June 9 - Flat Stanley Brayden’s Adventure Blog: Paris Parks, Balloon Rides & Eiffel Tower Sparkles!

Bonjour, explorers! Flat Stanley Brayden here, and today was all about a slow, lovely day in Paris—no big tours, just good friends, fresh air, and a few special surprises. Let me tell you about our last full day on the river!

Morning: Packing, Blogging, and Chilling Out

This morning, Toni got busy packing up our things for the trip home. Rob worked on his travel blog, typing away and sorting through all the cool stuff we’ve done. Me? I just chilled and enjoyed the view from our room—Paris never gets old!

Morning Walk in the Park

After everyone was ready, we decided to take a walk in the park near our ship. The park was full of people jogging, playing, and relaxing under the trees. There was even a tethered balloon you could ride for a bird’s-eye view of the city!

Fun Fact:

Tethered balloons are big balloons attached to the ground with a strong rope. They go up and down, letting you see the city from high above—like a slow, gentle ride!

Lunch at La Buvette du Parc

The line for the balloon was long, and we were getting hungry, so we headed to a cozy café called La Buvette du Parc. We sat outside and enjoyed sandwiches, salads, and tasty French treats. The sun was shining, and it felt great to relax and watch Paris go by.

Resupply Bucket Brigade (even the Captain was part of it)

Afternoon: Top Deck and Balloon Ride Take Two

After lunch, we returned to the ship and sat out on the top deck for a while. The breeze was nice, and we laughed about all the fun we’ve had so far. Later, we headed back to the park to try again for the balloon ride. This time, the line was shorter, and we got to go up! The view of Paris from the balloon was amazing—I could see the Eiffel Tower, the Seine River, and all the beautiful rooftops.

Light Dinner and Travel Mates

Back on the ship, we had a light dinner and spent time with our travel mates. We shared stories, swapped photos, and talked about our favorite parts of the trip.

Evening: Eiffel Tower Light Show

As night fell, everyone went up to the top deck to watch the Eiffel Tower light show. At the top of every hour, the tower sparkles with thousands of lights for five minutes. At 11 p.m., we saw the last show of the night—it was magical, and the perfect way to end our Paris adventure.

Question for You

If you could float in a balloon over any city, which one would you choose? What would you hope to see from up high?

That’s all for today, friends! Tomorrow we say goodbye to Paris, but I’ll never forget the parks, the balloon, and the sparkling Eiffel Tower. Stay tuned for more adventures with Flat Stanley Brayden!

Au revoir from Paris!
