June 1-Sunday in Paris: Notre-Dame Mass, City Sights & Louvre Masterpieces

Sunday in Paris: Notre-Dame Mass, City Sights & Louvre Masterpieces

Our Sunday in Paris began with a peaceful and inspiring morning. Along with two friends, we headed to the iconic Notre-Dame Cathedral for Mass. Even in its restoration phase, the cathedral’s soaring arches and stained glass made for a moving experience—a beautiful way to start the day in the heart of Paris.

After Mass, we reunited with the rest of our group for a day of sightseeing. We boarded the classic Hop On Hop Off bus tour, which is always a fun way to see the city’s famous landmarks from a new perspective. We rode through lively Parisian neighborhoods, past monuments and bustling boulevards, soaking in the atmosphere from the open-top deck.

We decided to hop off at the Louvre stop, ready for lunch and an afternoon of art and history. Our group found a lovely nearby restaurant with delicious French fare—perfect fuel for the adventures ahead.

Before our scheduled Louvre tour, we embraced our inner tourists with a little photo fun in front of the famous glass Pyramid. We took turns posing so it looked like we were touching the tip-top of the Pyramid—a classic Paris photo op! There was plenty of laughter as we showed others how to edit their photos, expertly removing stray tourists from the background for that perfect shot.

Soon, we met our passionate Louvre guide and began a three-hour journey through one of the world’s greatest museums. Her enthusiasm was contagious as she led us past masterpieces and shared stories behind the art. Highlights included the Venus de Milo, The Raft of the Medusa, Liberty Leading the People, Napoleon’s Coronation, and, of course, the enigmatic Mona Lisa. Each gallery brought new discoveries and a deeper appreciation for the Louvre’s treasures.

After our tour, we strolled the beautiful gardens outside the Louvre, enjoying the sculptures, fountains, and the relaxed Sunday ambiance.

On our way back toward the hotel, we took a different route and discovered a lively street filled with restaurants. We couldn’t resist stopping at a highly rated crêpe place—the perfect Parisian treat to end the day. Whether it was dinner or dessert, the crêpes were a hit!

With happy hearts and full stomachs, we made our way back to the hotel, ready for some much-needed rest after a day filled with art, history, and the magic of Paris.
